Ai ishte Sekretar i Përgjithshëm i OKB-së nga viti 1972 deri në 1981 dhe më pas President i Austrisë nga viti 1986 deri në 1992.

Kurt Waldheim (1918-2007) u shpall nga Departamenti SHBA person “non grata” në vitin 1987, sepse sipas tyre ai kishte gënjyer për të kaluarën e tij gjatë Luftës së Dytë Botërore, austriakët iu përgjigjën me një poster:: “Ne zgjedhim kë të duam!”.

Prandaj këta voçërrakët që kanë zaptuar godinën dhe vulën e Partisë Demokratike, duhet të ketë pak më kujdes ku tentojnë të dhunojnë apo të deformojnë kuptimin e fjalës “non grata”, sepse shembulli i Austrisë është i qartë si drita e diellit.
