Por Berisha nuk u tërhoq.

Përkundrazi, ai zgjodhi të përballej me vendimin, ta kundërshtonte dhe ta vazhdonte betejën politike.

Partia Demokratike dhe antarëdia e saj e kanë parë këtë qëndresë si një refuzim të drejtë për t’u gjunjëzuar përballë këtyre akuzave të pa mbështetura në asnjë provë, por me të vetmen piksynim : gjunjëzimi përballë narkoshtetit dhe klaneve dorosjane i Sali Berishës dhe i Partisë Demokratike, si forca e vetme progresiste pro perëndimore që rrëzoj diktaturën komuniste në Shqipëri

Sot, disa vite më vonë, fotografia politike është më komplekse.

Berisha, i cili për një periudhë u përball me izolim politik nga Uashingtoni, shfaqet sërish në një aktivitet të rëndësishëm të së djathtës amerikane, në Dallas, në kuadër të një delegacioni ndërkombëtar të IDU-së.

Dhe kjo nuk mund të mos ketë një domethënie politike.

Sepse politika nuk është një fotografi e ngrirë në kohë.

Ajo ndryshon. Marrëdhëniet ndryshojnë. Rrethanat ndryshojnë. Dhe mbi të gjitha, koha i vendos vendimet politike përballë historisë.

Për mbështetësit e Berishës, rruga nga “non grata” drejt Dallasit është simbol i një qëndrese.

Është historia e një politikani që, pavarësisht goditjeve, nuk pranoi të largohej nga beteja dhe që sot vazhdon të jetë në qendër të politikës shqiptare.

Mund të jesh pro ose kundër Sali Berishës.

Mund të mbështesësh ose të kundërshtosh politikën e tij.

Por është e vështirë të mohosh se ai mbetet një prej figurave më të rëndësishme dhe më përcaktuese të politikës shqiptare të tri dekadave të fundit.

Dhe pikërisht këtu qëndron ironia e historisë.

Ata që menduan se një etiketë do ta nxirrte Berishën nga skena politike shqiptare, sot duhet të përballen me një realitet tjetër: ai jo vetëm vazhdon të jetë lideri i fortë i opozitës shqiptare përballë një narkoshteti, por dhe po ri shfaqet sërish në një skenë të rëndësishme politike ndërkombëtare.

Nga “non grata” te Dallas .

Nga përpjekja për izolim politik te një tjetër dalje në skenën amerikane.

Njeriu që për vite u paraqit në politikën shqiptare si i izoluar nga Amerika, sot udhëton drejt Shteteve të Bashkuara.

Jo fshehurazi.
Jo për t’u justifikuar.
Por si lider i opozitës shqiptare dhe pjesë e një delegacioni ndërkombëtar.

Ftesa për të marrë pjesë në aktivitetin e së djathtës amerikane në Dallas i jep kësaj vizite një peshë të veçantë politike.

Historia nuk shkruhet vetëm nga vendimet e një dite. Ajo shkruhet nga ajo që ndodh më pas.

SALI BERISHA DREJT DALLASIT — jo si një kapitull i mbyllur, por si një histori që vazhdon të sfidojë ata që menduan se mund ta mbyllnin me një etiketë. ✌️

The journey of Sali Berisha to the United States, invited by the International Democracy Union (IDU) to join the official delegation at the Republican National Convention in Dallas on September 9 and 10, 2026, is one of those events that cannot simply be viewed as a protocol invitation.

Berisha was declared “non grata” by the United States in 2021, through a decision by then-Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Berisha and his supporters strongly opposed the decision, considering it political, unjust, and unsupported by evidence.

Behind this decision, they have argued, stood the political influence of Edi Rama’s government and its Soros-linked lobbying networks.

But Berisha did not retreat.

On the contrary, he chose to confront the decision, challenge it, and continue the political battle.

The Democratic Party and its membership have viewed this resistance as a legitimate refusal to kneel before accusations that, in their view, were not supported by any evidence, but were driven by a single objective: to force Sali Berisha and the Democratic Party—the only progressive, pro-Western political force that brought down the communist dictatorship in Albania—to kneel before the narco-state and Soros-linked political clans.

Today, several years later, the political picture is more complex.

Berisha, who for a period faced political isolation from Washington, is once again appearing at an important event of the American right in Dallas, as part of an international IDU delegation.

And this cannot be without political significance.

Because this is not simply about a simple invitation.

It is a development that makes it impossible to claim that Sali Berisha’s political history could be closed with two words: “NON GRATA.”

Because politics is not a photograph frozen in time.

It changes. Relationships change. Circumstances change. And above all, time places political decisions face-to-face with history.

For Berisha’s supporters, the journey from “non grata” to Dallas is a symbol of resistance.

It is the story of a politician who, despite the blows he received, refused to leave the battlefield and who remains at the center of Albanian politics today.

You may be for or against Sali Berisha.

You may support or oppose his policies.

But it is difficult to deny that he remains one of the most important and influential figures in Albanian politics over the past three decades.

And this is precisely where the irony of history lies.

Those who believed that a label would remove Berisha from the Albanian political stage must now face a different reality: he not only remains a strong leader of the Albanian opposition confronting a narco-state, but is also reappearing on an important international political stage.

From “NON GRATA” to DALLAS.

From an attempt at political isolation to another appearance on the American political stage.

The man who for years was portrayed in Albanian politics as isolated from America is now travelling to the United States.

Not secretly.
Not to justify himself.
But as the leader of the Albanian opposition and as part of an international delegation.

The invitation to participate in the American right’s event in Dallas gives this visit particular political significance.

History is not written only by the decisions of a single day. It is written by what happens afterwards.

And the history of Sali Berisha, whether you like it or not, appears to have a long way to go before its final page is written in politics.
