The Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime reacted to an official announcement that Sefa was considered the head of drug trafficking from Albania and Spain to Germany.

The Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, based on the material referred by the Judicial Police Officers at the National Bureau of Investigation, has registered (mainly) criminal proceedings with No. 150 of 2022, for the criminal offenses “Trafficking in narcotic substances” committed in the special form of cooperation of the structured criminal group, as well as the criminal offenses “Structured criminal group” and “Commitment of criminal offenses by the criminal organization and the group of structured criminal”, provided by articles 283/a, 28 point 4, 333/a and 334 of the Criminal Code.
These investigations have been carried out in close cooperation with the German justice authorities, the investigation structures of the Criminal Police Department of the State Police, as well as the National Bureau of Investigation, for whose interests a number of important investigative actions have been undertaken.
From the acts administered for the interests of this criminal proceeding, it has emerged that the German justice authorities, more specifically the Braunscheig Prosecutor’s Office, have continued with the investigation of a group composed of several Albanian citizens, who, as part of a criminal group, during the years 2020-2021, imported into the Federal Republic of Germany, in several episodes, significant quantities of marijuana-type narcotics. The amount of narcotics was mainly provided by Albania and Spain, which, after entering the German territory, was traded in the region of Wolfsburg, Magdeburg, as well as in other countries of the European Union.
For the interests of this criminal proceeding, the acts were administered by the German and French justice authorities, where from the examination and analysis of the administered data, it became possible to identify 12 (twelve) persons out of which 8 are Albanians and 4 (four) citizens. Germans involved in illegal criminal activity in the field of drug trafficking.
During the investigations, 9 (nine) episodes were recorded and it was proven that the amount of trafficked narcotics is 912 (nine hundred and twelve) kg of marijuana, while the value of the trafficked narcotics amounts to 3,374,400 (three million three hundred and seventy thousand four hundred) euros.
In the interests of this criminal proceeding, the Special Prosecutor’s Office has requested the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, the determination of the measure of personal insurance for the person under investigation, and the court has decided to accept the request, the determination of the measure of personal security with coercive character “arrest in prison”, provided by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
On the part of the structures of the General Directorate of the State Police and the National Bureau of Investigation, on 02.07.2024, near the SPAK premises, it became possible to execute the personal security measure “arrest in prison”. for the person under IS investigation Based on the acts and evidence administered up to this stage of the investigation, it has been proven that the arrested IS person is the leader and financier of this illegal criminal activity.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office requested the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime to carry out some checks, requests which were approved by the court, and where 4 (four) court decisions were executed and implemented checks (of homes, businesses, vehicles, and people).
After the checks carried out in the Albanian territory, the following items were seized:
3,070 (three thousand and seventy) euros;
300 (three hundred) dollars;
2 (two) laptops;
4 cell phones;
1 DVR + Camera;
Various jewelry;
1 (one) Rolex brand watch
4 bags of luxury brands;
3 vehicle keys;
A BMW X5 luxury vehicle;
After the checks carried out in the German territory, the following items were seized:
1 (one) Mercedes Citan type vehicle;
3,095 (three thousand and ninety-five) euros;
2 mobile devices;
60 kg of marijuana divided into packages with the inscription “Kruja”;
Investigations continue with the administration of evidence regarding the implication of other persons suspected of being involved in this illegal criminal activity.
