Berisha requests the resignation of the Interior Minister after police raid at the MEK camp

Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha requested the resignation of Minister of the Interior Blendi Çuçi at the wake of the death of a member of the Iranian opposition after police raided their camp in Manëz.

The Albanian state police executed a search warrant issued by the Court of Tirana but physical clashes with the residents of the MEK camp led to one death and many wounded.
“I am here to condemn the massacre in the people’s mujahedeen camp and to request the putting it in the session’s agenda”, Berisha said in the parliament today.

“The accusation contains elements of extreme humiliation of Albania and Albanians, like it is not a NATO member but it is a vassal of Iran instead. I demand the immediate departure of the Minister of the Interior”

The Socialist majority refused to discuss about the traffic incident

Head of the Socialist parliamentary group Taulant Balla said the investigation of the prosecution at the MEK camp is an issue of justice not of the parliament.
